Board Member Lauren Peña

Board Member Lauren Peña

At its meeting last week, the Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of Washington County appointed a new member: Lauren Peña. Lauren is originally from San Antonio, TX and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2020. She is a community health nurse and specializes in maternal-child issues. She has previously worked as a medical policy analyst in state government and as an advocate for sexual assault survivors. She also has a decade's worth of experience providing education to a wide variety of audiences. Lauren is extremely passionate about voter rights and is thrilled to have joined the League's board.

Also, at last week’s meeting, the Board of Directors appointed two new officers to address the recent resignation of Vice President Chloe Roane. Until the annual meeting when a full vote can be taken, Michelle Wolchok will be serving as interim Vice President, and Laura Kellams will serve as interim secretary.
