Sybil Jordan Hampton offers a public presentation, "So You want to Run for Office? Signposts for Public Service," followed by a Q&A period. Sybil Hampton is an outstanding Arkansan who has served in leadership roles throughout her career. She has been a higher education administrator; president of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation for ten years; named to Arkansas Business’s Top 100 Women in Arkansas several times; honored with the Earlham College Outstanding Alumni Award in 1998; named a Woman of Achievement by Iona College in 1986; recipient of the 2002 National Conference for Community and Justice Humanitarian Award; and inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2005. She serves on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation and the Japanese American National Museum. January 1 of this year she completed a four-year term on the Arkansas Ethics Commission. She works as a political consultant and with this presentation, she will be sharing her insights for those considering running for elected office, or already in office.
